Everything about this scene is perfect. The music and especially its lyrics, the dialogue, the fact the teacher is obviously based on Bob Ross… I can’t help but cry every time I see it. It was the impetus for me to start drawing because just like Riley I can use my artistic talents to make something beautiful for the people I love and care about. The quote “Let’s paint a picture of someone you love, maybe someone who’s not with us anymore” gets me every. damn. time. One day a great idea popped in my head which is one of the reasons I still draw and won’t stop until I manifest these ideas for the people I love. It’s powerful scenes like this that convey strong emotion all while keeping its comedic nature. Shout out to Tom Scott and RIP Bob Ross.
My brother is smart and nice
Someone I go to for advice
I learn something new from him all the time
And through all these years I realize he’s so determined and kind
I love my brother and he loves me
And that’s the way it should be
I want to find the right words to tell you how I feel
I want to let you know that my love is real
A woman who was capable of winning my heart
And for that, I hope we never drift apart
I want to let you know this is how I feel
To prove that this love I have is real
And I hope you understand me
When I say we were meant to be
I can’t express what you make me do
How every bit of passion I have, it’s because of you
Note: This post will continue to be updated as the acts and scenes are posted on my blog. A special thank you goes out to my brother, Tye and anyone who will enjoy reading this play.
